Renee Wijnen Caruthers has more than 20 years of experience working as a writer, editor and reporter for companies ranging from news outlets and trade journals to corporations and public relations firms.

Renee’s work in business-to-business publishing has included roles with Institutional Investor’s Corporate Financing Week, DM News, Bank Technology News (now a part of American Banker), and Waters Technology, among others. During her years of writing about finance and technology, she has covered the effects of Sept. 11 on Wall Street, the financial crisis and the fall of Lehman Brothers, several “flash crashes,” and the emergence of big data, high-frequency trading, dark pools, bitcoin and more.

In addition to journalism, Renee has written white papers, press releases, Web content, and has ghost written corporate bylined articles for a variety of corporate and public relations clients.

Currently based in New Jersey, Renee started her career in Chicago, where she freelanced for suburban editions of the Chicago Tribune and worked as a reporter for the City News Bureau of Chicago, a local Chicago wire service whose origins dated back to the late 1800s.
